WHY HUB?

As you can see I have named the BnB as the HUB. Thank you to all who have given their suggestions for a name. I decided on the name as I realize the word HUB has the following characteristics:

1. HUB is short. Madaling tandaan, madaling sabihin. Easy enough to remember. As in “Saan ka mag-stay sa Baguio?” “Pare, sa HUB! Balita ko okay dun!!!”

2. HUB refers to the center of a wheel where all the spokes connect! I want the BnB cum Retreat Place to be a HUB where people connect, where they have a safe and stimulating environment to share about their dreams and visions and where they can get the needed encouragement and actual push to go pursue their own dreams!

3. HUB can be understood by both Pinoy and Foreigner alike!

Eddie and Evelyn Las-ang are the HUB's able caretakers.

INTRODUCING THE HUB...

"The HUB is Bing's Bed and Breakfast cum Retreat Center up in Baguio City.

The HUB is a convergence point, a meeting place for people who desire to just take a break from their routines, usually at times of stress and for people needing a really good rest or simply a break!

The Hub is also for Christian Ministers, Pastors, Missionaries, Tentmakers, Church Layworkers, NGO workers, Grassroots Community Workers, and Christian Professionals and their families. In-house Retreats, Trainings and Workshops are offered year-round to cater to their needs in a restful, relaxing space but could also be stimulating out-of-the-box thinking and imagination!!!

So tayo na't Humayo't Umakyat sa Baguio!!!"

ONE TOWN, ONE PRODUCT

Went to the OTOP Exhibit in Megamall. OTOP is DTI's One Town, One Product Project. Bought these stuff from Banaue and Zamboanga! The Zamboanga products were made by Kaholatan Mats produced by our Sama brethren. Kaholatan means HOPE in the Sama language.
I'll set up an Artsy Fartsy Pinoy Boutique at the BnB. I will promote Philippine-made products from Zamboanga, Davao, Cebu, Banaue, atbp. I will also put up a Shop called Twice Upon a Time! Guess what will be sold there!

Tayo'y Humayo't Umakyat sa Baguio!

Welcome! Tuloy po kayo sa HUB! Short for Humayo't Umakyat sa Baguio!

The HUB is just by the road, along a Jeepney route
The HUB Retreat Center  is located very near the city center. It is housed at the OMF Baguio Vacation Home. OMF has kindly allowed me to run a BnB cum Retreat Center  type of ministry there at least for a year beginning Nov 1, 2011.

From the Victory Bus Station, it's a 15-minute taxi ride to #30 Dominican Hill Road. It's easy to find. Just tell the driver it's just past the Lourdes Grotto and right after the Barangay Outpost. House is to your right if you're coming from Naguilian Road.

It's a 30-40-minute walk to the Baguio City Hall, the Market , Burnham Park or the lower end of Session Road, the main artery of the city!
